Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle includes football scholarship, family service and community involvement. First family, he's the youngest of the nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon raised on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. In football, he was alongside three brothers from Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy was named the best offensive lineman in the country by Outland and Lombardi Awards. He was awarded two championships as well as the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. The National Football Foundation named him as a Scholar-Athlete three times time in 1975. Selmon is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in educational studies. Lee Roy's fourth service consisted of ten hours a week of volunteer time in college. Then he settled in Tampa after graduation, and played with the Buccaneers for nine years and played three times in the all-pro league. His business career began. In 1988, he began working as an Account Relation Manager at First Florida Bank in Tampa. He worked for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute and the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored him in 1982 as being one of the top 10 young men in the US. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch taller and weighing the hefty 256 pounds at college when he was player, commanded his team during the season of 1975. In 1993 he joined at the University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. In 1988, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. The same year, he also was a part of the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 gave its Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
